Bienenhaus
Another hobby occupation of Bormann's was bee-keeping, One of the two large bee houses built on the Obersalzberg. The Bienenhaus seen here was built at the edge of the meadow west of the
Gutshof, and its ruins can still be found today. Note how the ruins still show the curved walls of the outer wings, seen in the 1945 aerial photo below.
I get a lot of questions about the bienenhaus. as, why can't i see the brick walls on the original photo? it seems to be made of wood only. Well, here we go..
The first Picture below shows the Bienenhaus at the frontside! The frontside is at a higher level then the backside of the building.
At the frontside the foundation brick walls are not visable, you could see them only at the backside.
The ruins you see on the pictures above, are the foundations or cellar of the building. . On the last picture below you can see the foundation, (gray colours)
It had 2 doors in the curved brick walls.
Picture 1 and 3 are photoshopped and an estimate how it would look like.
